| These are some preliminary conclusions
about IPSO (International
Psychoanalytic Studies Organization) Research first
and second
phase: “International perspective in psychoanalytic
training and local institutional
culture”.
The research has been sponsored and financed by the
IPA Research
Advisory Board and IPSO. APdeBA is the fiscal and administrative
authority.
The purpose of this project is to provide a contribution
to psychoanalytic
training supplying candidates’ point of view.
Not withstanding the extensive
bibliography available on the subject, very few include
the experience of
those to whom it is directed.
The research questions are:
– What differences and similarities in the way
candidates experience
psychoanalytic training can be found, through this study,
among the different
regions?
– Do candidates consider that local culture reflects
on local psychoanalytic
institutional culture? How?
After describing the research development, some facts
and comments
are made about the following points:
– The tripod, IPA’s psychoanalytic training
model;
– Institutional belonging modalities;
– Training inconsistencies, unavoidably transmitted,
can be thought
about?
– The future of psychoanalysis, doing together
responsibility.
A high percentage of all candidates see the future of
psychoanalysis
linked with a change with the community relationship.
Nevertheless only a
few consider a change in the training.
Candidates also link the future of psychoanalysis with
the way in which
the differences are considered and with the possibility
that training develops
a critical and creative belonging.
