In this work the author sets for placing and granting
entity to “the
unspeakable” within the psychoanalytic field.
To that end, by means of
multiple notes, he goes through various stages, from
the view of theory as
a whole, to particular topics such as the psychoanalytical
concept of
childhood, the exposition of a clinical vignette, the
possible contributions
from the non-psychoanalytical literature, as well as
the effects of the
destitution of the discourse on victims of aberrant
acts. In order to validate
psychoanalysis as a discipline in constant development
and with sufficient
scope to account for all pertaining to the subject,
it becomes necessary to
grant the word such a status so as to be qualified to
theorize on “the
unspeakable”. As sole reference in the unrolling
of his ideas, the author
concludes its work with two quotes from the philosopher
Theodor W. Adorno.
